Why Did Consolidating My Debts Fail?

Debt consolidation reduced immediate pressure but did not solve the underlying debt position. A longer term, additional interest, new security or renewed use of cleared credit may have rebuilt the exposure. The question is whether consolidation changed the debt structure or merely reset the point from which borrowing continued.
